Constructing Success: A New Era for Indian Skill Development

The National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UltraTech Cement to strengthen skill development in India’s construction sector.

Under this partnership, the two organisations will jointly conduct training and certification programmes for civil engineers, contractors, ready-mix concrete (RMC) professionals, construction workers, and masons across the country. The programmes will focus on key areas such as material quality testing, concrete mix design, durability, and sustainable construction practices.

The initiative will also feature workshops, site demonstrations, seminars, and visits to cement plants and RMC facilities, providing participants with practical, hands-on experience.

According to officials, the collaboration is expected to significantly boost capacity building in the sector, with a large number of professionals and workers set to be trained over the next three to five years.

The MoU was signed at NCB’s Ballabgarh campus by LP Singh and Rahul Goel. Aligned with the Government of India’s flagship initiatives, including the Skill India Mission, the partnership aims to develop a skilled workforce capable of supporting the country’s expanding infrastructure and housing sectors.
