In a significant boost to India’s technology and manufacturing ambitions, RRP Electronics, backed by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, has acquired a 100-acre land parcel in Navi Mumbai to set up a semiconductor fabrication facility. The unit will house relocated operations from one of the world’s leading semiconductor companies based in Sherman, Texas.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called the development a landmark achievement for both the state and the country. “This firmly positions Maharashtra at the heart of India’s Semiconductor Mission roadmap,” he said.
The state government has pledged comprehensive support for the project—including infrastructure development, policy facilitation, and skill enhancement programs—aimed at ensuring its successful execution. The initiative is expected to generate substantial employment opportunities and reinforce Maharashtra’s role in the global semiconductor supply chain.
