RailTel Corporation of India has received multiple work orders from the Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC), with a cumulative value of ₹713.52 crore, marking a major boost to its presence in the education technology sector.
The company received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the State Project Director, BEPC, for the procurement, supply, and installation of smart classrooms in government middle schools, valued at ₹262.14 crore. The project is scheduled for completion by March 31, 2026.
In addition, RailTel secured:
₹44.21 crore for the Supply, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning (SITC) of ICT labs in schools
₹257.50 crore for smart classrooms in secondary and senior secondary schools
₹59.76 crore for the SITC of Interactive Smart Modules (ISM) labs
₹89.91 crore for teaching and learning materials for Classes I to V
“These orders significantly strengthen RailTel’s position in the education technology space and reinforce its role in the digital transformation of Bihar’s public education system,” the company stated.
RailTel, a “Navratna” PSU under the Ministry of Railways, operates a nationwide optical fiber network and has been actively expanding into digital and ICT services across various sectors.
