Print Power: Epson Establishes First Indian Manufacturing Hub

Japanese electronics major Seiko Epson Corporation has announced its first manufacturing investment in India with the establishment of an ink tank printer production facility near Chennai — a milestone move that underscores the company’s long-term commitment to the Indian market.

Set up in collaboration with manufacturing partner Rikun, the facility is located in the Sipcot Industrial Park, Sriperumbudur, and is scheduled to commence operations in October.

The plant will initially manufacture Epson’s popular EcoTank printers, known for their high-capacity, cartridge-free design. Starting with a monthly production capacity of 20,000 units, Epson also plans to scale up both output and product variety over time, further strengthening its presence in one of the fastest-growing printer markets in the world.
