Rajkot Rises: H&H Aluminium's ₹150 Cr Solar Frame Revolution

H&H Aluminium Pvt Ltd has inaugurated India’s largest aluminium solar frame manufacturing facility in Rajkot, Gujarat, marking a major push toward self-reliance in solar module component production. Developed with an investment of ₹150 crore, the plant aims to reduce India’s dependence on imported solar frames by matching both the quality and cost of Chinese-made products.

Inaugurated in Ahmedabad by Gujarat BJP President and Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil, the plant has an annual production capacity of 24,000 tonnes.

“Our immediate goal is to meet the quality benchmarks set by China,” said Uttam Patel, Director of H&H Aluminium, acknowledging that domestic manufacturing has long struggled with quality and pricing competitiveness. To overcome these challenges, the company has imported its entire production line—including aluminium extrusion presses and anodizing systems—from China, due to the unavailability of such equipment in India.

Located on a 28,000-square-meter site in Chibhda village, the facility began trial production in June 2025 and is expected to commence commercial operations within a month. Once fully operational, the plant is projected to generate annual revenues of ₹700–750 crore, strengthening India’s solar manufacturing capabilities.
