Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated the Central government's commitment to developing Amaravati, vowing full support to the Andhra Pradesh government to complete the construction of the new capital city swiftly—alongside progress on the Polavaram irrigation project.
At a public event on Friday, Modi formally relaunched several construction activities for the Greenfield Amaravati project and inaugurated infrastructure works worth ₹60,000 crore across the state. He underscored Amaravati’s key role in fulfilling the "Swarnandhra Pradesh Vision" and its contribution to the national development agenda of "Viksit Bharat."
“The development of Amaravati will not only accelerate Andhra Pradesh’s growth but also embody the vision of a developed India,” said Modi, assuring the Centre’s steadfast support to fast-track the project.
Highlighting India’s status as the world’s fastest-growing economy, Modi pointed to major advancements in infrastructure—particularly in the railways and roads sectors—over the past decade. He noted that Andhra Pradesh has been a major beneficiary of these national infrastructure initiatives.
His renewed commitment marks a significant push to revive the long-stalled Amaravati project, aiming to catalyze economic and infrastructural development in the state.
