APSEZ Wins 30-Year Lease for Deendayal Port Berth

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has received the letter of intent (LoI) to develop, operate, and maintain Berth No. 13 at Deendayal Port. This significant milestone is part of a 30-year concession period obtained through a competitive bidding process. The concession agreement must be signed within 30 days of the LoI's issuance by the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA).

The project will be executed on a design, build, finance, operate, and transfer (DBFOT) basis, catering to multipurpose clean cargo, including container cargo. This strategic move aligns with APSEZ’s objective to expand its operational capabilities and enhance cargo handling efficiency.

Berth No. 13, which spans 300 meters, boasts an impressive annual capacity of 5.7 million metric tons (MMT). This addition is set to significantly bolster Deendayal Port's cargo throughput, supporting its growth trajectory in the coming years.

The timeline for commissioning the new berth is projected for the fiscal year 2027 (FY27). This development is expected to strengthen APSEZ's position in the maritime logistics sector and contribute to the region's economic growth.

With this LoI, APSEZ continues to demonstrate its robust commitment to expanding its port infrastructure and enhancing India's maritime trade capabilities.
