Delhi's ₹412-crore Flyover Expansion Takes Off

The Public Works Department (PWD) is preparing to begin soil investigation and geotechnical surveys for the proposed ₹412-crore flyover expansion project at the Modi Mill and Savitri Cinema intersections along Delhi’s Outer Ring Road.

The project aims to double the existing one-way Savitri Cinema and Kalkaji flyovers and connect them with a new elevated stretch from the Modi Mill flyover, creating a seamless flyover corridor in South Delhi to ease traffic congestion.

Construction will begin only after obtaining statutory approvals from the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and other relevant agencies. According to a PWD official, “The project proposal has been reviewed by the minister, who has directed that all necessary clearances must be secured before any work begins.”

Once approved, the construction phase is expected to take at least one year to complete.
