Bidding Opens for Sambalpur's New ₹1,086 Cr. Highway Bypass

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited bids for the construction of a new four-lane bypass for Sambalpur under National Highway (Original) [NH(O)] in Odisha.

The project spans from km 0.000 to km 35.384 and will be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), with an estimated cost of ₹1,086.73 crore. Designed to ease congestion in and around Sambalpur, the bypass will offer a high-capacity corridor aimed at improving connectivity and reducing travel time for both commuters and freight traffic.

Upon completion, the bypass is expected to significantly enhance road safety, ensure smoother vehicular movement, and support regional economic growth by improving access to Odisha’s key industrial and mining regions.

The deadline for bid submission is 13 October 2025.
