TRSL Launches Third Diving Support Craft for Indian Navy

Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL) has successfully launched the third Diving Support Craft (DSC) for the Indian Navy, marking another milestone in the ongoing five-vessel series under the Make in India initiative.

The catamaran-type DSCs, equipped with advanced indigenous systems, are designed to support the Navy’s Command Clearance Diving Teams in executing critical underwater operations. They will also serve as advanced training platforms for the Navy's diving cadre, significantly enhancing operational readiness and capabilities.

Commenting on the development, Umesh Chowdhary, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of TRSL, stated that the launch reflects the company’s growing naval shipbuilding capabilities and underscores its strong commitment to India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem. He highlighted the strategic role of DSCs in strengthening the Navy's underwater operations and reaffirmed TRSL’s active participation in indigenous defence initiatives.

The vessel was built by TRSL’s Shipbuilding and Maritime Systems (SMS) Division, which is now being carved out into a dedicated entity to accelerate growth and specialization. This strategic move will enable TRSL to focus more sharply on its core rail systems business, while continuing to support the defence sector through high-precision, domestically built vessels.
