Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (Maha Metro) and Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) are jointly developing dedicated bus terminuses near the Swargate and Civil Court Metro stations in Pune.
This initiative aims to alleviate traffic congestion and improve commuter convenience by seamlessly integrating metro and bus services. Commuters have long highlighted the need for better bus facilities, including shelters and adequate waiting areas.
Maha Metro officials have confirmed that preliminary construction work has commenced, and coordination with PMPML is ongoing to finalise a comprehensive development plan. “We are committed to ensuring that the bus terminuses at both locations cater effectively to the needs of metro and bus passengers,” said a Maha Metro spokesperson.
According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) sources, a plot near the irrigation canal at Swargate has been designated for the metro hub. The development will feature a PMPML bus terminus, vehicle parking facilities, and commercial spaces, all aimed at providing enhanced infrastructure and smoother transit for daily commuters.
