Bihar's Rail Revolution: Four New Amrit Bharat Express Trains Launched!

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced the launch of four additional Amrit Bharat Express trains for Bihar, increasing the total number of such semi-high-speed trains nationwide to seven. With this expansion, five of the seven Amrit Bharat Express services will now originate from Bihar, significantly enhancing the state’s rail connectivity.

The announcement was made during the Minister’s visit to Bihar, where he also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several infrastructure projects at Karpoorigram Station under the Samastipur division.

Among the new services is the first daily Amrit Bharat Express on the Patna–Delhi route, marking a shift from the existing weekly-only schedule. Additional weekly trains include the Darbhanga–Gomti Nagar, Malda Town (via Kiul)–Lucknow, and Saharsa–Amritsar routes.

These additions are expected to improve regional connectivity, reduce travel times, and offer passengers more comfortable and affordable travel options. The Amrit Bharat Express is part of Indian Railways’ broader modernisation initiative to deliver enhanced onboard experiences through semi-high-speed, cost-effective trains.
