The Delhi government is pushing to complete two major flyover projects in 2025, both forming part of innovative double-decker viaducts integrated with upcoming Delhi Metro corridors. Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Parvesh Verma recently reviewed the projects and instructed officials to ensure their timely delivery.
The first project is a double-decker viaduct between Bhajanpura and Yamuna Vihar, part of the Maujpur–Majlis Park Metro line. It features Delhi’s first structure of this kind, with a four-lane road flyover on the lower deck and metro tracks on the upper level. While the flyover is nearly complete, final work on the access ramp is awaiting tree-cutting approval. Full completion is anticipated by July.
The second project involves a 2.2-km, 2+2 lane flyover from Azadpur to Tripolia Gate along GT Road, aligned with the RK Ashram Marg–Janakpuri West Metro corridor. Designed to ease congestion between central and north Delhi, it will benefit localities including Derawal Nagar, Vijay Nagar, and Rana Pratap Bagh.
Both projects are being executed as joint initiatives between the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the PWD under Phase IV of metro expansion. The Delhi government has allocated an additional ₹20 crore this year for the Azadpur flyover, with its completion targeted for December 2025.
