Aurobindo’s 10,000-Tonne Pen-G Ambition

Aurobindo Pharma plans to scale up its Penicillin-G (Pen-G) production capacity to over 10,000 metric tonnes annually within the next 12 months, according to Chief Financial Officer S Subramanian.

The Hyderabad-based drugmaker also expects its manufacturing facility in China to reach EBITDA breakeven in the fourth quarter and begin contributing meaningfully to overall EBITDA in the next financial year.

Speaking during an analyst call, Subramanian said the ramp-up of the Pen-G facility is progressing on schedule and is positioned to significantly enhance profitability over time. Based on current output trends, the company anticipates achieving an annualised production level exceeding 10,000 metric tonnes over the coming year.
