₹141 Crore Earthen Dam to Rise in Chikkaballapur

Visvesvaraya Jala Nigam Limited (VJNL) has issued a tender for the construction of an earthen dam across Ghantalamallamma Kanive in Pathakote village, Pathapalya Hobli, Bagepalli taluk, Chikkaballapur district, Karnataka.

Valued at ₹141.56 crore, the project is aimed at improving water storage, supply, and management to support agricultural and rural needs in the region. The proposed dam is expected to provide sustainable irrigation facilities, enhance groundwater recharge, and boost overall water availability in this semi-arid zone.

This initiative aligns with the Karnataka state government’s broader mission to strengthen irrigation infrastructure and improve resilience for farming communities.

The deadline for bid submission is 15 September 2025.
