Patel Engineering Ltd. (PEL) has been declared the lowest bidder (L1) by North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) for a major hydroelectric project in Arunachal Pradesh.
The project, valued at Rs 718 crore, involves the development of a 240 MW hydroelectric plant in the Shi Yomi district. Once operational, the facility is expected to produce approximately 1,000 million units (MU) of electricity annually, significantly bolstering the region’s energy capacity and supporting sustainable development initiatives.
The scope of the contract includes the construction of civil and associated infrastructure, as well as the testing and commissioning of hydro-mechanical systems and machinery. Patel Engineering will also oversee the performance and operation of all generating units upon project completion.
The project is slated for completion within a timeline of 44 months.
