Record Alert: Thane Coastal Road Hits 45% Milestone!

The Thane Coastal Road-1 project has reached 45% completion following a record-breaking construction milestone by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). On October 14, 2026, crews successfully installed 10 I-girders in a single day, surpassing the project's standard daily rate of six.

Spanning 13.45 km, this six-lane, access-controlled corridor connects Kharegaon Toll Naka (on National Highways 3 and 48) to Gaimukh in Maharashtra. Once operational, the new route will serve as a vital alternative to Ghodbunder Road, significantly improving connectivity between the Mumbai–Nashik Highway and Gaimukh.
