Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis chaired a high-level review meeting directing state officials to fast-track all rehabilitation, afforestation, and construction activities related to the ₹3,065 crore Gargai Dam project in the Western Ghats. The initiative, designed to strengthen long-term water security, affects 844 hectares (including 658 hectares of forest land and 186 hectares of private land) with an 805-hectare submergence zone. Statutory approvals from MoTA, seismic safety standards, and environmental bodies have been cleared, while approval from the National Board for Wildlife remains in process.
Additionally, Chief Minister Fadnavis directed the immediate clearance of village development plans across the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA). Revenue officials were instructed to rectify land record errors without delay and fast-track property card distribution to ensure smooth township development.
