Vedanta Aluminium has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Singhal Steel & Power and SCOT-AL Metcon to set up downstream aluminium manufacturing facilities at the upcoming Vedanta Aluminium Park in Jharsuguda, Odisha.
The agreements were formalised in Bhubaneswar in the presence of senior state officials, including Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma. The initiative is aimed at strengthening downstream aluminium value addition, promoting MSME growth, and reinforcing Odisha’s position as a leading industrial destination.
The proposed facilities are expected to attract investments exceeding ₹500 crore and generate around 1,500 direct and indirect employment opportunities. The Aluminium Park is being developed as an integrated, world-class industrial ecosystem to support ancillary industries and enhance the state’s manufacturing base.
The project aligns with Odisha’s broader ambition of emerging as a global hub for aluminium and advanced manufacturing. Officials noted that the initiative will accelerate investments, create jobs, and deepen industrial capabilities across multiple sectors.
