Adani Cement, a key arm of the Adani Group, has reached a significant milestone by achieving a cement production capacity of 100 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), a feat described by Group Chairperson Gautam Adani as having been accomplished at a “world-record pace.”
The company, which includes major brands like Ambuja Cements and ACC, is now among the leading cement producers in both India and the world. Previously, Ambuja Cements and its subsidiaries operated at a capacity of 89 MTPA through 22 integrated plants and 21 grinding units, supported by over 86 ready-mix concrete plants and a network of more than 100,000 channel partners nationwide.
Recognised as a sustainability leader, Ambuja Cements produces over 85% blended cement and maintains an 11x water-positive status. The company is also committed to sourcing 60% of its energy from renewable sources. It is notably the world’s first cement manufacturer to join the Alliance for Industrial Decarbonization (AFID), an initiative led by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) aimed at accelerating the transition to net-zero emissions.
