Mivaan Steels Secures Chhattisgarh Coal Block in Major Auction Win

Mivaan Steels, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSW Steel, has been declared the successful bidder for the Rajgamar Dipside (South of Phulakdih Nala) coal block in Chhattisgarh by the Ministry of Coal (MoC) on August 18, 2025.

The auction, held on July 30, 2025, saw Mivaan Steels emerge as the highest bidder by quoting 31.50% of the average monthly coal prices published under the National Coal Index (NCI). The win highlights the company’s long-term focus on energy security, self-reliance, and securing a reliable coal supply for its steel operations.

As part of the post-auction process, Mivaan Steels will proceed with the next steps, including obtaining the Letter of Intent (LoI), securing all necessary statutory clearances, and signing the Coal Mine Development and Production Agreement (CMDPA).
