On October 26, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹1,352 crore in Phaltan, Satara district.
The initiative focuses on strengthening infrastructure, irrigation, and industrial growth in the drought-prone region of western Maharashtra. Speaking at the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony and farmers’ meet, CM Fadnavis emphasized the government’s commitment to transforming Phaltan and neighbouring talukas by expediting long-pending irrigation works and accelerating infrastructure expansion.
The event also marked the inauguration of Phase II of the Right Main Canal under the Neera Deoghar Project, a key irrigation initiative aimed at boosting agricultural productivity. The project is expected to enhance water availability for local farmers, driving sustainable agricultural and economic growth across the region.
