Soufflet Malt has unveiled plans to establish a new malthouse in South Rajasthan in collaboration with United Breweries Limited (UBL), a part of Heineken. The facility will produce premium malt for leading beer brands, including Kingfisher and Heineken.
The first phase of the project is expected to be commissioned in early 2028, with an initial production capacity of 110,000 tonnes per annum. Capacity is planned to be doubled in the second phase.
Jorge Solis, CEO of Soufflet Malt, said the initiative is in line with the company’s MALTiply 2030 strategy, which focuses on leveraging global expertise to deepen its local footprint. He described the partnership with UBL as a strategic move to supply high-quality malt to established beer brands while generating sustainable, long-term value.
Solis added that the collaboration unites two industry leaders committed to excellence, quality, and sustainability, creating benefits across the value chain — from farmers and suppliers to partners and consumers.
