Vikran Engineering has secured two significant Letters of Award (LoAs) worth a combined ₹530.80 crore (excluding GST) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Limited for strengthening power distribution infrastructure in the Nashik and Kolhapur regions of Maharashtra.
The contracts have been awarded under the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded Power Distribution Enhancement Program through a national competitive bidding process. The Nashik project is valued at ₹235.63 crore, while the Kolhapur project stands at ₹295.17 crore, both excluding GST.
Under these turnkey assignments, Vikran Engineering will undertake end-to-end execution, including site surveys, design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, commissioning, and documentation. The scope of work covers the development of 33/11 kV, 22/11 kV, and 33/22 kV substations, transmission lines, augmentation of power transformers, installation of distribution transformers, laying of LT and HT/LT underground cabling, renovation works, and implementation of GIS-based asset mapping and tagging. Each project is slated for completion within 21 months from the respective LoA date.
Commenting on the development, Rakesh Markhedkar said the wins reflect the company’s strong technical expertise and execution capabilities. He noted that securing both contracts through competitive bidding not only strengthens the order book but also positions the company for sustained growth, while contributing to the advancement of Maharashtra’s power infrastructure and India’s broader energy access objectives.
