Pavna Industries, a Uttar Pradesh-based automotive component manufacturer, has entered into a joint venture with Taiwan’s SmartChip Microelectronic Corporation (SMC) to bolster India’s electric vehicle (EV) technology ecosystem and tap into emerging global markets.
Under the partnership structure, Pavna Industries will hold an 80% equity stake, while SMC will retain 20%. The joint venture will combine Pavna’s strengths in manufacturing, operations, and procurement, along with its deep insight into the Indian automotive sector, to oversee daily operations. SMC, a leader in semiconductor and chip design, will contribute its technological expertise to drive innovation in EV-related product development.
The collaboration is set to advance smart mobility solutions, electronics integration, and component efficiency, addressing the growing demand for intelligent and energy-efficient EV systems. By merging Pavna’s robust industrial base with SMC’s R&D capabilities, the JV aims to serve both India’s rapidly expanding EV market and global opportunities in automotive electronics.
