Festo Boosts Indian Manufacturing with Rs 500 Cr Plant

German automation technology leader Festo has inaugurated a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, with an investment of Rs 500 crore. Spread across 75 acres, the plant is dedicated to producing advanced pneumatic automation components for both domestic and international markets.

The facility is expected to create over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs, with further expansion plans in place to scale up production and workforce. Celebrating Festo’s 100th anniversary, Thomas Böck, Chairman of the Management Board, stated, “We are immensely proud to celebrate 100 years of Festo by reinforcing our commitment to India through this new facility.”

Aligned with its “local for local” strategy, Festo aims to strengthen regional supply chains, reduce emissions, and enhance global R&D, logistics, and manufacturing capabilities. The company had previously announced a Rs 520 crore investment during the 2024 Global Investors Meet in Tamil Nadu to establish this greenfield facility in Krishnagiri district, targeting the creation of over 2,000 jobs.
