Ahmedabad's Matter EV Targets 25,000 Units After Strong Start

Ahmedabad-based electric two-wheeler start-up Matter, which commenced production in July, is targeting a tenfold increase in sales in the next financial year. The company has sold about 1,000 units so far and expects to end the current fiscal with 2,500 units, before scaling up to 25,000 units in the following year, Founder and Group COO Arun Pratap Singh told businessline.

Founded in 2019 by a three-member team working out of a single room, Matter has grown to nearly 1,000 employees, including 600 engineers. It has invested ₹700 crore in its Ahmedabad manufacturing facility, inaugurated in April.

The plant currently produces up to 5,000 vehicles per month in a single shift, and the company plans to introduce a double-shift system in 2027–28 to double its output. Singh shared the update during the launch of Matter’s Aera 5000 and Aera 5000+ electric bike models in Chennai.
