OMC Power has ventured into the emerging segment of repurposed electric vehicle (EV) batteries to deliver energy storage solutions across multiple market categories, a senior company executive said.
The company, which operates in rooftop solarisation, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), telecom infrastructure greening, and mini-grid development, plans to leverage its existing capabilities to expand into this new domain.
OMC Power co-founder and CEO Rohit Chandra said the repurposing of EV batteries remains a nascent application area in India, adding that the company is likely to be among the first to undertake such an initiative in collaboration with Honda Motor Co., Ltd..
The partnership reflects growing momentum around sustainable energy storage solutions, as India looks to extend the lifecycle of EV batteries while strengthening renewable energy integration.
