Sunroof Giant Webasto Scales Up with Third Indian Hub

Webasto Group has announced plans to establish its third manufacturing facility in India, with operations scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026. The announcement was made during the visit of CEO Joerg Buchheim to Webasto Roofsystems India.

The upcoming plant will be located between Manesar and Kharkhoda in the National Capital Region and is intended to cater to the growing domestic demand for sunroof systems. The facility will primarily serve the northern automotive corridor, reinforcing the company’s local manufacturing and supply chain network. It is designed with an annual production capacity of approximately 5,00,000 units.

With the addition of the new unit to its existing plants in Pune and Chennai, Webasto’s total manufacturing capacity in India will rise to nearly two million units per year.

The expanded footprint is expected to enhance customer responsiveness and improve operational efficiency. In parallel with infrastructure growth, the company is also investing in talent development initiatives across its Indian operations to support long-term expansion.
