Andhra Petrochemicals Ltd has suspended operations at its Visakhapatnam plant following a disruption in the supply of propylene, a key raw material, from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL).
In a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange on Tuesday, the company said that operations at the facility have been halted with immediate effect.
The supply disruption is linked to ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia, which have impacted crude supply chains and led HPCL to temporarily pause propylene deliveries to downstream industries, affecting the company’s production.
