VinFast's India Charge: Electric Scooters Arrive in 2026

VinFast, Vietnam’s leading automotive manufacturer, is preparing to introduce electric two-wheelers in India by 2026.

Following the debut of its electric cars in the country earlier this year, the company is now conducting feasibility studies for its upcoming two-wheeler lineup, which is expected to include at least six models with different battery capacities and ranges. VinFast also plans to enter India’s ride-hailing segment by the first quarter of 2026, building on its strong presence in Vietnam. In parallel, the automaker is in discussions with state governments including Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh regarding the introduction of electric buses.

As part of its broader expansion strategy, VinFast aims to bring its full ecosystem—spanning mobility, education, healthcare, and hospitality—to the Indian market. The company’s $2 billion assembly plant in Tamil Nadu represents the first phase of a planned investment of up to ₹16,000 crore.
