Vedanta's Manganese Move: A New Resource for a New Era

Vedanta has acquired the Punnam manganese block in Andhra Pradesh through a competitive auction, marking a strategic expansion of its mineral resource portfolio.

Located in the Vizianagaram district, the block spans 152 hectares and is currently at the G4 exploration stage— the reconnaissance phase involving preliminary surveys to identify potential mineralisation zones.

This acquisition is expected to enhance Vedanta’s presence in the manganese sector, a critical component in steel manufacturing and battery technologies.
