Varanasi Railway Quarters Set to Upgrade to GAIL Piped Natural Gas

The Varanasi Division of North Eastern Railway (NER) has signed an MoU with GAIL India to supply Piped Natural Gas (PNG) across railway colonies and institutions in Varanasi.

Signed in the presence of the Divisional Railway Manager, this agreement transitions railway residences from LPG cylinders to a reliable, uninterrupted PNG grid. Rolled out in phases, the initiative introduces meter-based billing for transparent usage tracking while eliminating supply delays—delivering a safer, eco-friendly, and modern lifestyle upgrade for railway families.
