Track to Tomorrow: The ₹4,000 Crore Leap for Tirupattur-Hosur Rail

A detailed project report (DPR) has been prepared and submitted to the Central government for the proposed construction of a new railway line between Tirupattur and Hosur.

The proposed line will cover a distance of 109.24 km and will incorporate modern technology to facilitate smooth and efficient train operations, with speeds of up to 130 km/h. The route will pass through Kandili, Bargur, Krishnagiri, Polupalli, Chinnar, and Shoolagiri, where new railway stations are planned at each of these six locations.

To enable the project, approximately 64.435 acres of land will be acquired in Tirupattur district and 335.69 acres in Krishnagiri district. Construction of the railway line and associated stations will commence once funding is sanctioned.

With an estimated investment of ₹4,000 crore, the project aims to address the growing demand for improved connectivity driven by rapid industrial development in the Hosur region. A Southern Railway official stated, “The tracks will be laid using state-of-the-art technology, and supporting infrastructure is being planned to ensure safe and efficient travel.”
