Jabil, a US-based multinational corporation that supplies electronic components to global companies such as Apple and Cisco, is set to establish an electronics manufacturing facility with an investment of ₹2,000 crore at the SIPCOT industrial park near Manapparai in Tiruchi.
The company plans to acquire around 70 acres of land for the proposed unit, which is expected to generate employment for approximately 5,000 people. The project follows a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Jabil and the Tamil Nadu government during Chief Minister M. K. Stalin’s visit to the United States in September 2024.
Following a site visit, Jabil officials were briefed on the park’s infrastructure and facilities. The strategic location of the SIPCOT park, its strong connectivity, easy access to ports, and availability of essential amenities were key factors influencing the company’s decision.
This investment will mark the first major multinational venture in the SIPCOT industrial park. The project is expected to be formalised with the signing of a land allotment agreement in February 2026.
