The Leela Ayodhya: A Rs 185 Crore Luxury Retreat on the Sarayu River

Leela Palaces Hotels & Resorts has earmarked an investment of up to Rs 185 crore for its upcoming luxury property, The Leela Ayodhya, in Uttar Pradesh.

The capital will be channeled through its subsidiary, Buildminds Real Estate—in which Leela owns a 76% equity stake—via the subscription of compulsorily convertible preference shares (CCPS) across multiple tranches. Situated on a five-acre parcel near the Sarayu River, the planned 100-key hotel is designed to meet the rising demand for upscale accommodations in key spiritual destinations. This expansion aligns with the brand's broader vision to strengthen its footprint in India’s burgeoning luxury spiritual tourism sector.
