The Gujarat government has announced plans to develop a dedicated space manufacturing hub near Khoraj in Ahmedabad, along with a Common Technical Facility (CTF) with an investment of up to ₹100 crore to support space technology development and testing.
The initiative, undertaken in collaboration with IN-SPACe, aims to strengthen Gujarat’s presence in India’s expanding space sector by providing advanced shared infrastructure for startups and MSMEs engaged in satellite manufacturing, launch vehicle components, and space applications.
The proposed facility at GIDC Khoraj will function as a common platform for testing and validation, helping companies reduce the high costs of setting up individual infrastructure. The CTF will include advanced systems such as cleanrooms, thermal vacuum chambers, vibration testing equipment, EMI/EMC testing facilities, and additional infrastructure for climate simulation, magnetic field testing, and optical calibration.
The project is expected to foster innovation, lower entry barriers for emerging space companies, and build a stronger ecosystem for space manufacturing and technology development in the state.
