V.O. Chidambaranar (VOC) Port Authority has begun generating carbon credits from its renewable energy initiatives, marking a step forward in its sustainability efforts.
According to the authority, five renewable energy projects with a combined installed capacity of 12.4 megawatts (MW) have been registered under the carbon credit framework.
The portfolio comprises a 400-kilowatt (kW) rooftop solar installation, along with 1-MW and 2-MW ground-mounted solar power plants. It also includes wind energy projects with capacities of 6.3 MW and 2.7 MW, contributing significantly to the port’s clean energy generation.
