The Future is Modular: TVS Launches BaaS and Orbiter V1

TVS Motor Company has introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model across its electric vehicle portfolio, offering customers a more flexible ownership option while reducing the upfront cost of its electric scooters.

The company has also expanded its EV lineup with the launch of the TVS Orbiter V1, which comes equipped with a 1.8 kWh battery.

With the addition of the Orbiter V1 and the rollout of the BaaS model, TVS Motor’s electric scooter range will now start at ₹49,999 (ex-showroom Delhi), inclusive of benefits under the PM E-Drive Scheme.

Under the BaaS model, customers can subscribe to the battery separately instead of purchasing it upfront, significantly lowering the initial purchase cost of the vehicle. The company said the subscription model also offers long-term battery assurance and greater peace of mind for customers.

For buyers who prefer full ownership, the TVS Orbiter V1 is also available without the BaaS option at ₹84,500 (ex-showroom Delhi), including PM E-Drive benefits, according to the company.
