The Future is Electric: YEIDA Launches Rs 485 Cr Electronics Cluster

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has commenced development of the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) 2.0 in Sector-10, spanning 206 acres. The project aims to attract both domestic and global electronics manufacturers, establishing a national hub for high-tech production.

Design Associates Incorporation has been appointed for internal development, which is scheduled for completion by January 31, 2028. According to OSD Shailendra Bhati, the cluster is designed to serve a range of sectors including automotive electronics, consumer and industrial electronics, computer hardware, communication systems, and e-mobility components.

With a total outlay of Rs 485 crore, the project will receive Rs 144 crore in Central assistance from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), while the remaining cost will be funded by YEIDA.

Out of the total area, 122 acres have been allocated for industrial use, including ready-built factory sheds and a flatted factory complex with 176 units of various sizes.

Havells India will serve as the anchor investor, committing Rs 800 crore over 50 acres, and is expected to create 1,000 jobs with production starting in 2026. Other firms issued Letters of Intent (LoIs) include Dixon Technologies, Ascent-K Circuit, Aurionpro ToshiAutomatic Systems, and Neenjas Electric, pending final state approval.
