Zelio E-Mobility Limited achieved a significant milestone in India’s electric vehicle industry by doubling its production capacity and commissioning a new manufacturing facility on February 23, 2026.
The company’s total installed EV production capacity increased from 72,000 units per annum to 180,000 units per annum, effective 4:30 P.M. on the same day. With projected utilization levels of approximately 85% for FY 2025–26, the additional 108,000 units of capacity strategically position Zelio to meet accelerating demand for sustainable mobility solutions.
The existing manufacturing facility in Ladwa, Hisar, Haryana enhanced its output from 72,000 to 120,000 units through operational optimizations, including extended conveyor systems and the installation of additional machinery, achieved with minimal incremental capital expenditure. Meanwhile, the newly commissioned plant in Cuttack district, Odisha, adds 60,000 units of annual capacity. Fully funded through internal accruals, the Odisha facility commenced commercial production immediately, strengthening regional distribution efficiency and logistics capabilities.
This expansion reinforces Zelio’s pan-India manufacturing footprint, bolsters supply chain resilience, and improves operating leverage amid rising EV adoption, while maintaining cost efficiency through low-capex upgrades at its Haryana facility.
