The Autonomous Anchor: Sagar Defence Lands 29.58 Acres

Sagar Defence Engineering Pvt. Ltd has been allotted 29.58 acres of land at the Juvvaladinne Fishing Harbour in Bogolu Mandal, SPSR Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, for the establishment of the world’s first autonomous maritime shipyard and systems centre.

The approval by the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet is regarded as a significant step towards strengthening India’s indigenous capabilities in surface and subsurface maritime platforms and fostering a future-ready defence technology ecosystem.

Founded in 2015 by Capt. Nikunj Parashar (Founder and CMD), Mridul Babbar (Co-Founder and CFO), and Lakshay Dang (Co-Founder and CEO), Sagar Defence Engineering specialises in unmanned and autonomous systems across maritime, aerial, and land domains. The company delivers advanced surveillance, intelligence, reconnaissance, and logistics solutions for defence, commercial, and scientific applications, and aims to build a “Digital Ocean” through real-time data generated by autonomous platforms.
