Telangana to Float Tenders for $10,986 Cr. HAM Road Project

The Telangana government has announced the development of 5,587 km of roads in the first phase of a major infrastructure push, with an estimated investment of ₹10,986 crore under the hybrid annuity model (HAM). Tenders for the project are expected to be floated next month.

At a recent review meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka directed officials to ensure that every Assembly constituency is covered, with project plans based on detailed traffic surveys. Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stated that road development and strengthening will be implemented over three years in multiple phases, with the goal of setting national standards in road quality.

The plan includes building double-lane roads to connect mandal headquarters with district centers, and developing four-lane corridors linking districts to Hyderabad. Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj presented proposed routes, timelines, and funding strategies. Finance Secretary M. Haritha and senior Roads & Buildings engineers also participated in the meeting.

Additionally, the government is prioritizing the restoration of flood-damaged roads, with a strong focus on durable, high-quality infrastructure to support economic growth and public safety.
