Tata Steel Taps John Cockerill for ₹80 Cr Jamshedpur Project

Tata Steel has awarded John Cockerill India a contract worth approximately ₹80 crore for the engineering, design, manufacture, and supply of pickling and acid regeneration plants (ARP) at its Tinplate Division in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.

The scope of work includes supervision of erection and commissioning to ensure performance standards are met. John Cockerill India will provide all critical components for the push-pull pickling line and ARP facilities, integrating advanced technologies aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and environmental sustainability in steel treatment.

This project is expected to significantly strengthen Tata Steel’s tinplate production capabilities, aligning with the company’s broader strategy of technology-led modernization and long-term capacity expansion.

The contract is scheduled for completion by mid-2027, with John Cockerill India overseeing the full installation and commissioning process to meet defined operational benchmarks.
