Tata Advanced Systems and Lockheed Martin have begun construction of a new maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in Bengaluru to support the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft fleet.
Slated for completion in 2026 and expected to start operations in early 2027, the facility is coming up near Kempegowda International Airport. It will offer a comprehensive suite of services, including depot-level maintenance, component repairs, avionics upgrades, and specialised training for Indian engineers. The centre is also expected to create new opportunities for Indian suppliers within the global C-130 supply chain. In addition to the C-130J Super Hercules, the MRO will service the KC-130J and future C-130 B–H legacy aircraft.
“This groundbreaking reflects how far our collaboration with Tata Advanced Systems and India has come,” said Frank St. John, Chief Operating Officer, Lockheed Martin. “The new facility strengthens that foundation by bringing world-class sustainment capability into India and improving readiness for the Indian Air Force.
