Tallest Tower Takes Shape: Nagpur's Cotton Market Reimagined

Nagpur is set to welcome its tallest commercial complex, rising to 102.9 metres, as part of the ₹235 crore redevelopment of the historic Cotton Market. On 14 July 2025, Municipal Commissioner Abhijeet Chaudhari approved the proposal submitted by the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC) under the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) vision for sustainable and integrated urban renewal.

The project will follow a Design-Build-Operate-Finance (DBOF) model and aims to transform the dilapidated Cotton Market into a modern, vertical, multi-use urban hub.

Key highlights include: Plot area: 8,070 sq. mtrs., Built-up area: 60,947 sq. mtrs., Two towers: One for office spaces; another housing a hotel with service apartments from the 5th to 24th floor, Lower levels: Retail outlets, cafes, restaurants, a cinema, health club, library, kids' play zone, and a function hall, Parking capacity: 319 cars and 658 two-wheelers

The project received planning clearance on 6 June 2025. As part of the redevelopment, 28 existing shops will be rehabilitated at a cost of ₹6.57 crore. The total civil construction cost is estimated at ₹291.94 crore.

“The project is a major step forward in revitalising urban infrastructure and boosting commercial growth in Nagpur,” said an official associated with the development.
