Stronger Together: The ONGC-Reliance Offshore Collaboration

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Reliance Industries have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to share resources, including supply vessels, for oil and gas exploration and production.

The MoU was executed during India Energy Week (IEW), as confirmed by Pankaj Kumar, ONGC’s Director (Production). The agreement is intended to enhance operational efficiency, accelerate offshore project execution, and strengthen collaboration between the two companies. With adjacent fields and operations—particularly off India’s east coast—the firms will jointly utilise resources, infrastructure, and technical expertise to reduce duplication, optimise capital expenditure, and expedite the development of key offshore assets.

This marks the second recent partnership between ONGC and Reliance, following their joint bid in 2024 for the GS-OSHP-2022/2 offshore block in the Saurashtra Basin under the OALP Bid Round IX.
