Solar-Powered Synergy: JPVL to Invest ₹300 Crore in 50 MW Project

Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (JPVL) has announced plans to set up a 50 MW solar power project in Madhya Pradesh, with an estimated investment of ₹300 crore.

The proposal was reviewed by the company’s board in a recent meeting and is subject to necessary approvals, including those from existing lenders. As per the regulatory filing, the solar project will be developed at JPVL’s existing site in Bina, where it currently operates the 500 MW Jaypee Bina Thermal Power Plant (JBTTP).

By utilizing existing infrastructure at the thermal plant, JPVL aims to optimise resource use while strategically diversifying its energy portfolio toward renewable sources. This initiative reflects the company’s broader commitment to sustainable energy and supports India's national targets for clean power generation.

Once operational, the solar facility will contribute to green energy availability in Madhya Pradesh, enhancing the region’s renewable capacity while maintaining operational synergies with JPVL’s thermal assets.
