Silicon Valley 2.0: Karnataka Greenlights ₹20 Cr AI-Biotech Hub

The Karnataka Cabinet has approved the establishment of a Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in Biotechnology (AI-CoE) at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology in Electronic City.

The centre will be developed over four years in collaboration with the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms, with a total investment of ₹20 crore. The initiative aims to boost research and innovation at the intersection of artificial intelligence and biotechnology.

In a separate decision, the Cabinet has granted administrative approval for a new building for the Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation in Kalaburagi. The project, estimated at ₹20 crore, will include an administrative facility along with a commercial complex, according to Priyank Kharge.
