Siegwerk's Rs 350 Crore Commitment Takes Shape with Pune Automation

Siegwerk, a global leader in printing inks and coatings, has inaugurated its newly expanded and automated blending facility in Chakan, Pune, to meet the rising demand for water-based inks in India.

Part of a long-term strategy to build a future-ready, sustainable supply chain, the upgraded facility features a state-of-the-art automatic ink dispensing system integrated with Siegwerk’s SAP platform. This enables inline mixing, precise ingredient loading, and complete traceability. With the ability to produce batch sizes ranging from 20 to 200 kg with one-gram accuracy, the plant can now blend up to 2,400 tonnes of ink annually.

The expansion is aligned with Siegwerk’s Rs 350 crore investment plan in India over the next three years. It enhances sustainability by reducing manual handling, improving safety, and optimising resource efficiency. This development strengthens India’s role in Siegwerk’s global operations, with plans to roll out similar automation across other facilities in the country.
